Softball to Host Northwestern for Tuesday Night Contest

Flames host the Wildcats on Flames Field at 6:00 PM. In honor of Pride Night, the first 200 fans receive a free Pride t-shirt.

Chicago, Ill. – The UIC softball team returns to Flames Field tomorrow, April 22nd, to host the Northwestern University Wildcats in their final non-conference game of the 2025 season. The Flames and Wildcats will take the diamond for a 6:00 PM first pitch. A live stream will be available on ESPN+, and live stats will be available on UICFlames.com. The first 200 fans to arrive at the game will receive a free Pride t-shirt in honor of Pride Night.

HISTORY VS NORTHWESTERN
The Flames and Wildcats' history dates to before 1991, with Northwestern leading the series 35-10. The Wildcats have won the last 11 meetings, with the last coming on March 20th, 2024, in Evanston, Ill., with the Wildcats winning 7-1. Tuesday's game marks the first game at Flames Field since 2005.

LAST WEEKS RECAP
  • The Flames finished the week 1-3 after facing DePaul on Tuesday and Drake in a three-game series. Their win came on Friday against the Drake University Bulldogs, as they won 5-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) contest. 
    • In their 5-2 win, Cameran Rios went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs while Hailey Cowing went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, a double, and a triple.
    • Jasmine Whorley earned the win on the mound after pitching a complete game and striking out a career-high five batters. 
  • Cowing finished the week with a .500 AVG after going 7-of-14 with three RBI, two runs, two doubles, a triple, a .786 SLG%, and a .500 OB%. 
  • Rios finished with a .500 AVG as well after going 5-of-10 with an RBI, three runs, and a .545 OB%
