CHICAGO – The UIC baseball team (13-28, 9-9 MVC) closed out its weekend series against Bradley (9-28, 5-12 MVC) on Sunday, as both sides were in search of the series victory in the afternoon rubber match.

Bradley took the early lead on Sunday, as the Braves tallied three runs in the third inning including a two-run home run to jump ahead 3-0.

The Flames began their comeback in the fifth, as an RBI double off the bat of
Thomas Curry trimmed the deficit to two. One inning later, an RBI single up the middle from
Lucas Smith pulled UIC within one run at 3-2.

Entering the bottom of the ninth inning down by one, the Flames put together a rally with one out, as
Curry drove home the tying run with a single to left field.

UIC answered a Bradley 10
th inning run on a
Smith RBI single, and would go on to win the game in the bottom of the 12
th with a sacrifice fly off the bat of
Luke Nowak, giving the Flames the 5-4 victory.
