NORMAL, Ill. – The UIC baseball team (17-30, 13-10 MVC) continued its three-game series at Illinois State (23-25, 12-11 MVC) on Saturday, with UIC looking to take a 2-0 advantage in the weekend set following an 8-3 victory on Friday.

The Flames scored the game's first run for the second straight day, as
James Harris came home on an RBI single to put UIC ahead 1-0.

In a spot start,
Kendall Lyons surrendered just two earned runs in five innings. The Redbirds took a 5-2 lead into the seventh inning, when the Flames struck for two runs highlighted by a
Colin Husko RBI single in his first game back in the lineup since April 19.

The Flames were unable to complete the comeback, falling by a 6-3 final score.
