CHICAGO – The UIC volleyball team (3-4, 0-0 MVC) brought a balanced attack Friday night, sweeping Central Arkansas (2-5, 0-0 ASUN) in straight sets in the Flames' home opener at Credit Union 1 Arena.
Senior
Cleo Lorenzo paced the Flames with kills and a trio of service aces. Fellow senior
Beatrice Carulli had nine kills and two blocks., while freshman
Ana Petrides contributed eight kills and a team-high four blocks.

- Lorenzo notched her third consecutive double-digit kill performance, tallying 47 kills across her past 13 sets.
- After her nine-kill performance, Carulli leads the Flames with 64 kills in the season, ranking her 20th in the Missouri Valley Conference.
- Petrides is averaging 1.16 blocks per set, the fourth-best mark in the Valley.
- UIC's win over Central Arkansas marked the team's second sweep of the season, following a straight-sets victory against Radford on Sept. 5.
