NORMAL, Ill. – The UIC volleyball team (7-5, 1-1 MVC) are back on the road this weeks, opening with a Missouri Valley Conference Thursday night match-up against Illinois State (6-8, 1-1 MVC) Thursday night, before closing out the trip Friday at Bradley (8-6, 2-0 MVC).

SCOUTING ILLINOIS STATE
- Thursday marks the 19th meeting between UIC and Illinois State. The Redbirds lead the all-time series 13-5, but the Flames have won four of the last five matchups.
- In their lone meeting last season, UIC pulled out a five-set victory at Credit Union 1 Arena. Junior Gabi Peter (13 kills) and senior Cleo Lorenzo (12) led the attack, while senior setter Francesca Venturini tallied five service aces.
- Illinois State opened MVC play with a sweep of Indiana State (7-7, 1-1 MVC) before falling in five sets to Bradley on Saturday.
SCOUTING BRADLEY
- UIC and Bradley meet for the 34th time Friday, with the Flames looking to extend their 12-match winning streak in the series dating back to 2006.
- In last year's matchup, UIC earned its fifth straight sweep at Credit Union 1 Arena. Lorenzo and sophomore Antonie Kelnárová each posted 14 kills in the win.
- The Braves started conference play with a sweep of Evansville (4-10, 0-2 MVC) followed by a five-set victory over Illinois State.
LAST WEEKEND RECAP – vs. UNI/DRAKE
- The Flames opened conference play at home, dropping their opener to UNI (9-5, 2-0 MVC) before bouncing back with a five-set win over Drake (4-9, 0-2 MVC).
- Senior Ayat Amin posted back-to-back double-digit kill performances, finishing with 14 against Northern Iowa and 11 versus Drake.
- Lorenzo recorded her third double-digit kill effort in four matches with a match-high 19 kills and 14 digs against the Bulldogs.
- Junior libero Hannah Howard delivered consecutive 20+ dig outings, highlighted by a season-high 24 digs in the win over Drake. She averaged 4.89 digs per set on the weekend.
