Swimming and Diving Stays Local for Meet at UChicago

The Flames and Maroons meet for a crosstown battle.

CHICAGO – The UIC swimming and diving programs will be heading across town for their third of four straight away meets when they face UChicago this Friday.

FLAMES FACTS - CHICAGO

  • This will be the ninth all-time meeting between the Flames and Maroons with the men winning five and the women winning four. They last met on Jan. 18, 2025, with the women winning 180-102 and the men winning 209-63. 
  • In their last meeting, sophomore Georgina Bell won four events, placing first in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay for the women, and senior Harrison Nolan swept the diving events winning both the one and three meter for the men.

DUAL MEET RECAP - SOUTHERN INDIANA

  • The women's team defeated Southern Indiana 220-77 while the men fell short 140-159. The Flames broke eight USI Aquatic Center pool records during the meet.
  • Senior Madison Helmick won the 1000 freestyle (10:24.77), 500 freestyle (5:01.92), 200 freestyle relay (1:37.27). Helmick's times in the 500 and 1000 freestyle set USI Aquatic Center pool records. On the diving board, senior Kerry-Leigh Morrison won the three-meter diving event (270.00).
  • Freshman Jay Stewart won the 200 freestyle (1:39.99) and 100 freestyle (46.55), setting a USI Aquatic Center pool record in the 200 freestyle. Senior Harrison Nolan swept the diving events winning the one-meter (378.60) and three-meter (413.10) events.
