Noah Pelinkovic Named Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Freshman of the Week

The freshman collected two wins against U Chicago.

CHICAGO – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its weekly award winners Tuesday afternoon, and freshman Noah Pelinkovic earned MVC Men's Freshman of the Week honors after his strong performance against U Chicago.

Pelinkovic was outstanding for the Flames in endurance races against U Chicago, tallying two wins over the course of the meet in the 1000 freestyle (9:25.94) and 500 freestyle (4:32.56) scoring 22 points for the Flames. Pelinkovic's time in the 1000 freestyle is good for a top-five time in the MVC. The freshman was also a part of a second place finishing 400 freestyle relay (3:04.87) team. This is the first weekly award of Pelinkovic's career.

Pelinkovic is the fifth Flame to earn MVC weekly recognition this season, joining  Harrison Nolan (Men's Diver of the Week - Oct. 15, Oct. 28, Nov. 25), Kerry-Leigh Morrison (Women's Diver of the Week - Oct. 15, Nov. 4), Jay Stewart (Men's Swimmer of the Week - Oct. 15, Men's Freshman of the Week - Oct. 28, Nov. 4), Georgina Bell (Women's Swimmer of the Week - Oct. 21) and Christian Curtis (Men's Diver of the Week - Nov. 4).
