CHICAGO – Missouri Valley Conference play continues for UIC women's basketball team (9-11, 4-5 MVC) Saturday afternoon, when they prepare to take on Valparaiso (0-21, 0-10 MVC) at Credit Union 1 Arena.

Saturday's game will double as Alumni Day, honoring former UIC women's basketball student-athletes throughout the afternoon, and Y2K Day, with fans encouraged to rock their favorite late-'90s and early-2000s gear.

SCOUTING VALPARAISO
- This will be the 61st match-up on the hardwood between the Flames and Beacons. UIC holds a 33-27 lead on the overall series, winning four of the past five meetings.
- In their last meeting, UIC collected a 61-44 victory at Valparaiso's Athletic-Recreation Center (ARC) back on Dec. 7. Senior Crystal Ortiz led all scorers with 17 points, grabbing six rebounds and a pair of steals in 32 minutes off the bench. Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman scored 15 points in the victory.
- The Beacons are still in search of their first win of the campaign, last falling to Indiana State (7-13, 3-7 MVC) at home Thursday afternoon, 77-63. Redshirt junior Milana Nenadic secured a double-double in the contest, leading all scorers with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
- Senior Fiona Connolly continues to lead Valparaiso's offense, leading the Beacons in scoring (11.3 PPG) and total steals (18).
LAST GAME RECAP – AT BRADLEY
- After erasing a 13-point deficit entering the fourth quarter, the Flames ultimately fell short on the road against Bradley (13-7, 6-3), 73-63 Sunday afternoon.
- Senior Jessica Carrothers led UIC in scoring with 16 points, four assists, four steals and three rebounds across 36 minutes of play.
- Ortiz scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds off the glass coming off the bench for the Flames.
- Coleman and sophomore TuTu Clayton each netted 10 points respectively in the contest.
