CHICAGO - UIC came out hot on Friday afternoon, taking the doubles point and a 1-0 lead against Grand Valley State. They didn't look back, as they then swept all six singles points and the match to move to 2-1. 

The Flames were able to accomplish this against a strong Grand Valley team while being down a key starter in Sophomore Marta Halbersztadt. Senior Paula Rodriguez Gregoris filled in well, winning in three sets at No.6 singles.

The Flames are back in action on February 7th at XS Tennis Village against Toledo.
