CHICAGO – Another former member of UIC women's basketball will continue her professional career, as Ky Dempsey-Toney (Class of '25) has signed with ETO Basket of Hungary's NBI.A, the country's top professional women's basketball league.

"We are so excited for Ky to continue her professional basketball career," head coach Ashleen Bracey said. "She continues to work hard to get better each day, and that showed in Croatia, where she averaged a double-double during her first professional season. We are excited to see the impact she will make with ETO Basket!"

This will be Dempsey-Toney's second contract in her professional career, after playing a season with the Ženski Košarkaški Klub Šibenik in the Preimijer Liga in Šibenik, Croatia during the 2025-26 season. She appeared in 33 games for the club, averaging a double-double with 12.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.

Dempsey-Toney played in over 127 games at UIC and was penciled into the starting line-up 20 times in her collegiate career. Her best year came in 2024-25, where she averaged career-highs in points (8.2 PPG), rebounds (5.3 RPG), total steals (18), and three-pointers made (seven).  She was second on the team in blocks (20), field goal percentage (.538) and led the team in three-point percentage (.467).

The forward collected a dozen games in double figures her senior season, including two games with 20+ points. In the quarterfinals of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Championship against Missouri State, Dempsey-Toney collected her third double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds on March 14.
