DES MOINES, Iowa – Missouri Valley Conference action saw the UIC women's soccer team take on the Drake Bulldogs at Mediacom Stadium for their third conference match of the season. Two first-half goals in favor of the Bulldogs (8-3-1, 3-0 MVC) were all that was needed, as the home team defeated the Flames (1-8-2, 0-3) by a final score of 2-0.

FIRST HALF
With the first shot of the contest, Becca Ruggiero sent the ball towards goal in the 14th minute, resulting in a Bulldogs save.

The Bulldogs took the lead and then doubled it in the 20th and 24th minutes with goals by MVC leading goalscorer Angela Gutierrez. Alma Beaton assisted the first goal while Isabella Balsley assisted the second.

In the 32nd minute, the Flames were awarded a penalty kick following a foul inside the box. Rosie Martin stepped up to take the kick, but an unfortunate hit off the post kept the ball out of the goal as the Flames remained trailing the Bulldogs 2-0.

At halftime, the Flames trailed the Bulldogs 2-0.

Ries then had another opportunity in the 64th minute from distance that forced Ford to make a diving save, resulting in a Flames corner kick.
