CHICAGO – The UIC softball team is set to begin the 2026 season on Friday as they take part in the UNLV Leadoff Classic, hosted by UNLV from February 6-8. Over three days, the Flames will compete in five games against three different opponents. First pitch of their season opener will take place at 5:00 p.m. CT on Friday. All games will be livestreamed on YouTube, while live stats will be available on UICFlames.com.

HISTORY
California Baptist – This will be the first meeting between the Flames and Lancers
UNLV – This will mark the seventh and eighth meetings between the Flames and Rebels, with UNLV leading the series 4-2. They last met on Feb. 12, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nev. where the Flames came away with a 4-2 victory.
Purdue – This will mark the 10^th and 11^th meetings between the Flames and Boilermakers, with Purdue holding a slight 5-4 edge over UIC. Their last meeting took place on Feb. 16, 2024, in Tampa, Fla. where the Flames fell to the Boilermakers 2-0.
