Baseball Heads to Missouri to Face Southeastern Conference Foe

Series against the Tigers begins Thursday with a 6 p.m. first pitch.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The UIC baseball team (4-6, 0-0 MVC) is continuing its start of the season road trip, as they prepare for a four game series against Missouri (10-2, 0-0 SEC) at Taylor Stadium.
 
Three of the games will be streamed on SEC Network+ on ESPN, with Saturday being the lone game not streamed. Thursday's game will tentatively be UIC's lone radio broadcast on the Flames Network over the four-game series. Every game will have live stats available at UICFlames.com. SCOUTING MIZZOU
  • This series will be the 24th-27th meeting between the Flames and Tigers. Missouri leads the all-time series, 16-7.
  • Mizzou is currently on an eight game winning streak, most recently sweeping North Dakota State in a three game series over the past weekend at home.
  • Redshirt-Sophomore Tyler Macon leads the Tigers in batting average (.480), runs batted in (22), runs scored (18), extra base hits (five) and stolen bases (five).
  • Graduate Student Javyn Pimental leads the Tigers pitching staff with a 1.72 earned run average in 15.2 innings pitched.
TENNESSEE TECH HOLIDAY INN CLASSIC RECAP
  • The Flames went 1-2 earning a win over Tennessee Tech this past weekend.
  • In the Flames 8-0 win over Tennessee Tech, junior Mason Lei led his second consecutive three-pitcher shutout, striking out seven across seven innings of work against the Golden Eagles.
  • Freshman Sean Cody batted .455 (team-high), collected five hits (tied team-high), two doubles, scored twice and three RBI across two multi-hit games.
  • Junior Lucas Smith hit a pair of home runs towards the tail end of the weekend against Notre Dame and Alabama A&M.
  • In the game against Alabama A&M, graduate student Zack Millsap pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the Flames, striking out three batters in his outing.
