COLUMBIA, Mo. – The UIC baseball team (4-9, 0-0 MVC) dropped two games Saturday against Missouri (13-2, 0-0 SEC), losing the resumption of Friday night's match up that was suspended due to weather 13-12, and falling in the second game 7-0.
GAME ONE
Mizzou struck first in the opening frame to grab a 1-0 lead, but the Flames were quick to answer,
Jake Busson tied the game with a solo home run and a
Gavin Acosta sacrifice fly gave the Flames the lead. Still in the second inning,
Lucas Smith and
Thomas Curry picked up RBI before
Will Smoot had a two RBI single to bring the Flames lead to 6-1. Busson hit his second home run of the inning, a three-run shot this time, as the Flames put up a nine spot in the top half of the second inning. The Flames extended their lead with Acosta, Smith and Smoot driving in runs in the third inning as the Flames extended their lead to 12-1. The Tigers would score three in the fourth before the game was suspended due to weather with the Flames leading 12-4. When the game resumed Saturday afternoon it was all Tigers, as they scored one in the fifth, four in the sixth and a pair of runs in the seventh and eighth scoring 12 unanswered runs to defeat the Flames 13-12.

Mason Lei pitched four innings allowing two earned runs before the game was suspended.

GAME TWO
The Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and did not look back, leading the rest of the game keeping the Flames scoreless. The Tigers added two in the third and three in the fifth winning by a final score of 7-0. The Flames were 1-8 with runners in scoring position for the game. Flames relievers

Payton Barton covered 3.2 innings, without allowing a run. Starting pitcher
Brandon Bak was credited with the loss (1-2).
