COLUMBIA, Missouri – The UIC baseball team (4-9, 0-0 MVC) concluded it's time at Taylor Stadium Sunday afternoon, falling short to Missouri (14-2, 0-0 SEC) in seven innings to conclude the four-game series.
The Flames' first hit came in the top of the first when
Jake Busson singled down the left-field line, reaching second base after a fielding error before being left stranded at inning's end.
After the Tigers added two runs in the bottom of the inning, the Flames recorded their next hit when
Vidal Colon singled to left field, but he was left on base after
Thomas Curry flew out on the next pitch to end the frame.
As the first arm out of the bullpen,
Jake Jakubowski kept the Tigers at bay, pitching 1 1/3 innings in relief. He allowed two hits and walked one batter

The Flames' final hit came off the bat of
Andrew Pyszka, who singled on a 3-2 pitch that slipped past the middle of the infield. The Tigers secured the win with four runs in the bottom of the fifth and held the Flames scoreless over the final two innings.

UIC closes out it's 14-game road trip close to home, taking on Northwestern (6-6,0-0 BIG TEN) at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park for a 3 p.m. (CT) first pitch Tuesday afternoon.
