CHICAGO, Ill. – The UIC track and field programs kept the momentum rolling with another strong showing across two competitions, combining for six top-10 UIC All-time outdoor performances, 20 new personal best outdoor performances, and one school record at the Elmhurst University Chicagoland Championships and the University of Illinois Illini Deca-Jam.
WOMEN
At the Chicagoland Championships,
Jadie Chavez finished 29th in the 1500m with a time of 5:03.15, while
Jazmin Diaz followed in 36th with a 5:07.44.
At the Illini Deca-Jam,
Alayna Filipiak turned in a standout performance, finishing third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.89, ranking sixth all-time in UIC outdoor performances.
Chinenye Ifeajekwu added to the top-10 list as well, finishing fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.47, ranking seventh all-time in UIC outdoor performances.
The weekend's highlight came from freshman
Carissa Uy, who set a new school freshman record in the outdoor long jump with a distance of 5.68m.
MEN
At the Chicagoland Championships,
Luis Flores finished 18th in the 1500m with a time of 4:05.90, while
Stephen Kapumba took 19th in the triple jump with a distance of 12.69m.
The men continued their strong form at the Illini Deca-Jam, where
Emanuel Murphy claimed first place in the 400m with a time of 49.71.
Amare Harris continued his impressive outdoor campaign, finishing second in the 200m with a time of 21.66.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"Over both competitions, several team members had strong performances and led to another set of new additions to our Top All-Time Lists," said head coach

Carissa on setting another freshman school record and new addition to our top 10 all-time lists."
