Softball Welcomes DePaul for Wednesday Showdown

First pitch against the Blue Demons is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (CT) at Flames Field.

CHICAGO – The UIC softball team (19-24-1, 8-14 MVC) will host crosstown foe DePaul (14-24, 4-11 Big East) for a midweek out of conference game at Flames Field. This is the second meeting between DePaul and UIC this season, with the Flames winning the first game 2-1. First pitch will take place at 2:00 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday.

VALPARAISO RECAP
 
The Flames played a doubleheader against conference opponent Valparaiso on Tuesday, winning both games. In game one 6-2 win, five different Flames collected an RBI, with Siena Stickney, Sam Tourtillott, Emily Brecht, Nina Pesare and Sophie Gerochi all driving in a run. Jasmine Whorley earned the win (14-11), pitching seven innings, allowing two runs and striking out two. In the second game, the Flames won via run rule in five innings by a score of 12-4. Brecht and Gerochi both homered, with Tourtillott driving in a team high four runs in the win. Trinity Brandhorst picked up the win (5-7) in the circle, striking out two across five innings of work.
