CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team has collected it's second transfer this offseason, with head coach
Ashleen Bracey announcing that Evyn Carrier will be joining the team ahead of the 2026-27 season, with two years of eligibility remaining as a redshirt junior.

Ashleen Bracey said. "She will bring much needed depth to our back court. Her size, experience, toughness and floor stretching ability will allow her to make an immediate impact. Evyn is an outstanding student and high character young lady. She is an incredible addition to our program."
In her lone season at Toledo (2025-26), Carrier played in 30 games, collecting one start for the Rockets. The center averaged 10.7 minutes, 3.4 points, 3.0 rebounds per game. Carrier played an integral part of the Rocket's push to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament Championship Game.
Carrier showcased her defensive activity and physicality, ranking third on the team with 11 blocks. She also pulled down 90 rebounds, including 63 on the defensive end.
On the offensive side of the ball, Carrier stayed a steady presence in the paint for the Rockets, shooting 46.2 percent from the field. In her lone start of the season at Buffalo on Feb. 28, Carrier scored a season-high 14 points in the contest, grabbing five rebounds and a block before the Rockets fell to the Bulls, 69-66.
After redshirting her freshman year at Western Michigan, she played in 23 games for the Broncos during the 2024-25 season, averaging 4.3 points, 3.6 rebound per game. She also had 10 blocks and 10 steals for the Broncos and dished out six assists.
Carrier's hit double figures for the first time in her collegiate career against Buffalo at home on Jan. 29, 2025. She scored a team-leading 11 points, six rebounds and a pair of steals in the loss.
Growing up 65 miles outside of Chicago, Carrier played varsity for four years at Sycamore High School. She served time as Team Captain and hit 1,000 career points. In her senior season (2022-23),
Carrier helped lead the Spartans to a 21-13 overall record, going 13-1 against Interstate 8 conference opponents before falling in the playoffs to Providence Catholic to end their season.
Carrier becomes the second person to join the team via the transfer portal, accompanying
Lyla Kahrimanovic who signed and announced on April 9.
