CHICAGO – Riding a six-game home win streak, the UIC baseball team (15-21-1, 10-5 MVC) will welcome Northern Illinois (22-12, 14-7 MAC) for an out of conference one-game midweek matchup. The game will be played at Curtis Granderson Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. (CT). The game will be available to stream on
ESPN+.

SCOUTING NIU
- This game will be the 63rd meeting between the Flames and Huskies. NIU leads the all-time series 33-29.
- NIU is coming off a three-game conference series on the road against Akron, going 2-1. In their most recent contest they lost 4-3.
- Senior Caden Robertson leads the Huskies in home runs (13), runs batted in (42) and runs scored (33). Robertson leads the Mid-American Conference in home runs.
- Senior Max Vaisvila leads the Huskies pitching staff in earned run average (2.73), wins (six), strikeouts (62) and innings pitched (62.2). Vaisvila is second in the MAC in strikeouts.
VALPARAISO RECAP
- The Flames continued Missouri Valley Conference play with a series against Valparaiso this past weekend, sweeping the Beacons. The Flames won the final game 5-4 in 12 innings, bringing them into a tie for first place in the MVC.
- In the final game of the series, freshman Sean Cody had an RBI walkoff single in the 12th inning against Valparaiso, completing the Flames comeback and lifting them to a 5-4 victory.
- Senior Brandon Bak threw a complete game shutout in the second game of the series, with the game being called due to run rule in the seventh inning. Bak earned the win with his final line reading as seven innings pitched, three strikeouts and no runs allowed.
- In the four games over the past week, juniors Thomas Curry and Ashton Kampa both homered twice, with Curry driving in nine runs and Kampa plating runs.
UIC CAREERS IN SPORTS DAY
- Prior to UIC's Kids Day Game on April 24, the Flames will host a Career Day event inside the Flames Athletic Center from 9–11 a.m.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from UIC Athletics staff about their roles and the various career paths available in sports.
