SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
- This series will be the 8th-10th meeting between the Flames and Racers. UIC leads the all-time series 5-2.
- Murray State won its most recent game, beating Bellarmine 8-7 Tuesday afternoon.
- Senior Kristofer Hokenson leads the Racers in home runs (six) and on-base plus slugging percentage (.924).
- Senior Nic Schutte leads the Racers pitching staff in wins (five), strikeouts (38) and innings pitched (40). Schutte ranks in the top five of the MVC for strikeouts and paces the league in wins.
NORTHWESTERN RECAP
- The Flames lost against Northwestern on Wednesday night by a score of 15-4, with the game being called after the seventh inning due to run-rule.
- Senior Colin Husko recorded two runs batted in to lead the team.
- Junior Lucas Smith went two-for-three at the plate recording a team high two hits.
- Senior Michael Vitellaro and freshman Keegan Luxem combined to pitch one inning, allowing zero runs and striking out two.
UIC CAREERS IN SPORTS DAY
- Prior to UIC's Kids Day Game on April 24, the Flames will host a Career Day event inside the Flames Athletic Center from 9–11 a.m.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from UIC Athletics staff about their roles and the various career paths available in sports.
