PEORIA, Ill. – For the final week of Missouri Valley Conference play, the UIC baseball team (22-26-1, 14-7 MVC) hits the road to take on Bradley (10-43, 5-16 MVC) at Dozer Park entering the weekend beginning Thursday. SCOUTING BRADLEY
- The Flames are one win away from tying the Braves in the all-time series, with Bradley holding a 19-18 edge entering the weekend. UIC has won five of the last six meetings.
- Bradley returns from North Carolina after a 5-4 win over Campbell University (36-15, 23-4 CAA). After the Camels led 3-1 through four innings, sophomore Luke Skinner delivered a grand slam in the fifth to secure the victory for the Braves.
- Graduate student Landon Lowe has continued his strong spring at the plate, leading the team with a .355 batting average and 19 doubles while co-leading the Flames with 66 hits.
- Junior Davis Webb has made 15 appearances this season on the mound for the Braves, collecting three starts. The hurler leads the team with strikeouts this season with 62.
LAST WEEKEND'S SERIES – vs. Illinois State
- The Flames took two out of the three games at home this past weekend against Illinois State (31-20, 13-11 MVC), securing their fifth series against a Missouri Valley Conference opponent.
- Junior Ashton Kampa had a standout offensive week for the Flames, going 5-for-5 with three home runs in a midweek game against Milwaukee before adding 10 hits in the series against the Redbirds, highlighted by a walk-off single in Saturday's 9-8 win. He was later named MVC Player and Newcomer of the Week.
- Junior Mason Lei shined on the mound in Friday's game against ESPN U. The hurler threw seven innings of work, allowing six hits, walking three batters and striking out four enroute to UIC's 10-2 win.
- Heading into the final weekend of conference play, the Flames are tied for first in the Missouri Valley Conference standings with Indiana State (28-23, 14-7 MVC) and have a chance to compete for the 2026 MVC regular-season title.
