CHICAGO – Under the lights at Flames Field, the UIC women's soccer team hosted the DePaul Blue Demons for their fifth non-conference contest of the 2026 season. The Blue Demons (3-0-1, 0-0 Big East) went up early with a goal in the 16
th minute over the Flames (0-3-2, 0-0 MVC). Although UIC took their chances, they were unable to come back, falling to DePaul 1-0.
FIRST HALF
With the first shot of the contest, the Blue Demons found the back of the net. Danielle Fjeldsted scored the ultimate game winner with a right-footed shot to the upper left corner.
Delaney Engel gave the Flame back-to-back chances in the 20
th minute for UIC's first two shots of the match. Both attempts were saved by Mason Hillery's fingertips.
Jennifer Rodriguez had the final chance of the half, but the Blue Demons' defense blocked the opportunity leading into the halftime whistle.
SECOND HALF
Both sides created four chances during the second 45 minutes of action.
Riley Cunningham took the Flames' lone shot of the half in the 75
th minute.
Defensively,
Sydney Bollis came up with a huge block in the 77
th minute to keep the Flames within one.
In the end, the Flames were unable to come back, falling to the Blue Demons 1-0.

UP NEXT
The Flames will travel to Madison, Wis., to take on the #22 Wisconsin Badgers for a non-conference match. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT at McClimon Track/Soccer Complex.
