Women’s Soccer Heads to Belmont for Conference Opener

Flames take on Bruins in MVC contest

Nashville, Tenn. – The UIC women's soccer team begins Missouri Valley Conference play Sunday as they are set to take on the Belmont Bruins. Kickoff between the reigning MVC Tournament Champions, the Flames (1-5-2, 0-0 MVC) and Bruins (1-3-4, 0-0 MVC) is set for 12:00 p.m. CT.

HISTORY vs BELMONT
Sunday's contest marks the seventh all-time meeting between the Flames and Bruins, with UIC leading the series 2-1-3. 

Their last meeting took place on Oct. 26, 2025, with UIC recording a 3-0 victory over Belmont. 

Both teams recorded 14 shots in the contest, with the Flames placing nine shots on goal compared to the Bruins' six. 

LAST TIME OUT
The Flames are coming off their first victory of the 2026 season as they defeated Western Illinois 2-0 in their final non-conference match. 

Camryn Ries scored the opening goal of the match in the 14th minute for her first of the season. Gracie Lisota sealed the victory in the 88th minute for her third goal of the season. Elyse DeSchryver assisted both goals.

UIC outshot WIU 25-1 with 11 shots on goal. 

Belmont enters the match coming off a nil-nil draw. 

The Bruins placed 5-of-13 shots on goal. Laken Whittington and Reagon Ross recorded three shots, with Ross placing one on goal.
