St. Paul, Minn. – The UIC volleyball team (1-5, 0-0 MVC) couldn't find its momentum Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets to Montana State (4-2, 0-0 Big Sky) at Schoenecker Arena to wrap up its time at the Tommie Invitational.
Senior
Tamara Kisic led the way for UIC's attack, tallying seven kills and nine digs in the contest. Junior
Jillian Gibbons and sophomore
Emma Colombari each collected six kills apiece. Freshmen
Paulina Ströh and
Judy Asar combined for 28 assists throughout the match.

- Finishing with 18 kills over seven sets played, freshman Martina Cerrato led UIC with an average of 2.57 kills per set.
- Kisic finished the weekend with a team-leading 24 kills and ranked second on the team in digs with 35, trailing only sophomore libero Ava Young, who recorded 40 digs.
- Freshman middle blocker Robyn Ward was the only member of UIC to hit double-digit blocks, collecting 10 blocking assists against St. Thomas (1-3, 0-0 Summit) and Montana State.

The Flames return to Credit Union 1 Arena next Friday, Sept. 11 for their home opener as they co-host the UIC-DePaul Invitational. UIC opens the invitational against Southeastern Conference foe Auburn (3-2, 0-0 SEC) at 6 p.m. (CT). The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available at

Friday's match will also serve as UIC's Campus Community Game, featuring a Block Party and foam finger giveaway. Campus organizations are invited to attend and table at the match, while faculty and staff are encouraged to bring their families and cheer on the Flames. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a foam finger.
