Volleyball Swept Away At UW-Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wis. - The UIC volleyball team started its Wisconsin weekend on a sour note on Friday as they were swept at UW-Milwaukee 15-8, 15-4, 15-8.

The Panthers' Klotsche Center has proved to be a house of horrors for all visitors as UWM has now won 41 of its last 42 games at home. With the loss, UIC fell to 14-10 and 3-5 in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference this season while UW-Milwaukee improved to 17-3 and 7-1 in the MCC.

Freshman Teaha Shepperd led UIC with 12 kills, seven digs and four blocks while teammate Lara Clarkson totaled eight kills and seven digs. Senior Erica Anderson just missed a double-double with 23 assists and nine digs.

Laura Dallenbach paced the Panthers with 10 kills and 11 digs as UWM posted a .319 attack percentage (48-12-113) in the three-game triumph that lasted just over an hour.

Don August's crew will look to get back on track tomorrow afternoon as they travel north to take on UW-Green Bay at 3:00 p.m.
