Box Score

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team snapped its two-match losing streak on Tuesday night as they swept Chicago State 15-9, 15-7, 16-14 at the Jacoby Dickens Center.

With the win, the Flames improved to 16-12 on the season while the Cougars fell to 4-18 on the year.

Without senior setter Erica Anderson, who is day-to-day with a stress fracture in her foot, it was up to Amy McMahon to run the UIC offense. The sophomore filled in admirably totaling 40 assists while guiding the Flames to their best hitting night since Sept. 12, as UIC posted a .295 attack percentage (52K-14E-129TA) against the Cougars.

Freshman Teaha Shepperd led the Flames' hit parade, tabbing her 21st double-digit kill outing of the season as she finished with a team-best 12 kills while posting a .435 attack percentage (12-2-23). The rookie also tabbed her team-high 16th double-double of the season, adding 10 digs in the win. Lara Clarkson chipped in as well for UIC, recording eight kills and 11 digs.

Don August's crew will be back at home to wrap up the regular season this weekend as they battle Butler on Friday at 7:00 p.m., then tackle Wright State on Saturday, for Senior Day, at 4:00 p.m. Both matches will take place at the UIC Physical Education Building.
