The UIC baseball team (1-7) dropped its second straight game in as many days to Tennessee Tech as the Golden Eagles handed the Flames a 22-5 loss Saturday afternoon.
After playing to a 1-1 tie through three innings, Tennessee Tech (3-2) rallied for 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth before adding four more runs in the sixth and five more in the seventh to run away with the victory.
The UIC pitchers surrendered 13 walks and 13 hits in the loss with Brad Mears suffering his first defeat of the season to fall to 0-1.
At the plate, rookies Curtis Granderson and J.P. Moran hit the ball well for the Flames as Granderson went 2-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBI and two home runs. Moran went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
