Women's Tennis Makes It Two-In-A-Row

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's tennis team won its second straight match on Saturday, downing visiting Indiana State, 6-3.

The Flames tallied four singles wins to jump out to a 4-2 lead on the Sycamores. Jacki Farr (7-6, 6-3/No. 1), Emina Curic (6-3, 4-6, 6-4/No. 2), Zorica Malesevic (6-2, 6-3/No. 4) and Alyson Stalzer (6-1, 6-3/No. 6) all notched victories as UIC won at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions in the same match for the first time since Feb. 5, when they swept Valparaiso 9-0.

Nicole Derouin made her return to the court in the No. 1 doubles match, teaming with Jacki Farr for an 8-4 triumph. Kim Harris and Alyson Stalzer remained undefeated as a doubles duo this season, taking the No. 3 doubles fray, 8-5.

UIC begins defense of its MCC crown this week as they jump into league play with a pair of road matches in Wisconsin. Mary Dailey's squad takes on UW-Milwaukee on Friday afternoon, before heading north to Green Bay, Wis., to battle the Phoenix on Saturday.
