Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago senior Emina Curic was named Midwestern Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week it was announced earlier today.
Curic, the three-time All-MCC honoree, highlighted the Flames' 8-1 win over UW-Green Bay on Saturday, April 1, as she cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 victory in the No. 2 singles match and tied former Flame Sara Jackson in the UIC record books for career singles victories with 81. The senior also won in her doubles match versus the Phoenix, teaming with freshman Zorica Malesevic for an 8-0 triumph in the No. 2 doubles match.
The Flames, who are currently on a four-match winning streak, welcome city-rival DePaul to the Flames Tennis Facility this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The match marks UIC's first outdoor home tennis match of the spring season.
