Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago volleyball coach Don August announced his squad's schedule for the upcoming 2002 campaign on Tuesday afternoon.

August has put together a slate that will certainly push his players to the limit as the Flames will take on six teams that qualified for the NCAA tournament last season, including perennial powers, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

"We have two teams that will be preseason top-10's in the country," August said of Ohio State and Wisconsin. "We're getting kind of an idea of how we stack up."

The other tournament teams include: DePaul, Fairfield, Eastern Illinois and UW-Milwaukee.

"I think our tournaments get tougher, each succeeding week and that just kind of builds us up, heading into conference."

UIC will open its home campaign on September 6th, as they will host the second UIC Invitational and will face the University of Buffalo, Binghamton and the University of Iowa.

If the Flames are able to put everything together, August sees nothing but good things ahead for his troops.

"We know we have the talent to be a top 50 team, maybe even a top 35 team," August said. "It's just a matter of execution."
