St. Louis, Mo. - The UIC women's tennis team enjoyed a shutout of a weekend, defeating Creighton and St. Louis by a combined score of 14-0.
After defeating Creighton on Saturday, 7-0, the Flames were relentless on Sunday in beating the host Billikens in St. Louis.
Following taking the doubles point by winning a pair of matches, the Flames rang off six-straight singles wins.
Nicole Derouin defeated Melisa Lemus, 6-3, 4-6, 10-6, in the No.1 slot, while Ayca Gumuscu defeated Vicki Zielinski, 7-6, 6-1 at No.2 singles.
Corey Steven, Zvjezdana Malesevic, Molly Smith and Zorica Malesevic were the other singles winners for the Flames.
