Plant City, Fla.- The UIC softball team finished pool play at the 2003 Speedline Invitational with a 2-3 record after falling to nationally-ranked Oklahoma State, 6-2, on Saturday afternoon.

The Flames finished fourth in Pool D at the event, thus moving into the consolation bracket. UIC will take on Ole Miss on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the consolation semifinals and would advance to meet the winner of Illinois and UMass at 12:00 p.m. with a victory over the Lady Rebels.

On Saturday, the Flames (4-15) took an early 1-0 lead as they capitalized on two OSU errors in the top of the first inning.

The Lady Cowgirls answered back, though, tying the game with a run in the first, then adding to their advantage with single runs in the third and fourth before blowing the game open with three runs in the fifth.

Sara Seagraves (5-0) remained perfect in the circle on the year for Oklahoma State while UIC rookie Brittany McIntyre suffered the loss, dropping to 3-6.
