West Lafayette, Ind. - The UIC men's and women's indoor track and field teams continued their 2006 campaign on Saturday by competing at the Purdue Invitational.
In a non-team scoring event, the Flames posted several solid finishes.
On the men's side, senior Brandon Cook picked up a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash in a season-best 23.02.
Sophomore Terell Williams gave UIC its other second-place finish on the afternoon in the long jump (6.40m). Sophomore Tyler Meeks placed third in the 60-meter dash in 7.12.
For the women's team, freshman Kaci Boston notched a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash (27.31) while taking fourth in the 60-meter race (8.17).
Junior Cynthia Spearman took second in the 600-meter (1:40.93) and Cortnee Smith placed fifth in the long jump (5.03m).
Both the UIC men's and women's squads will be back in action next Saturday when they compete in the Eastern Illinois Mega-Meet in Charleston, Ill.
