Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball steps out of Horizon League action on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to host Bradley University at 7:00 p.m. The Flames enter the non-conference matchup 11-11 overall, while the Braves own a 4-12 record on the season.
UIC is coming off a 1-1 weekend against UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee. The Flames dropped the Phoenix in four games on Oct. 6 at home, followed by a 3-1 loss to the Panthers on Oct 7.
UIC is 6-10 against non-conference opponents this season and the contest against Bradley marks the final non-league match in 2006.
Leading the Flames on offense, senior Ambria Springer has recorded 306 kills this season, averaging 3.69 per game. Springer also paces UIC at the net with a team-high 102 blocks. Notching 316 digs, senior Julie Popp guides the Flames on defense, averaging 4.33 per game.
After dropping 11 straight matches, the Braves broke the curse with a sweep over Drake on Oct. 6. Despite snapping an 11-match losing streak, Bradley was then swept by Creighton the following day (Oct. 7).
Overall, Amber DeBroux guides the Braves on offense, averaging 3.56 kills per game. Jennifer Bohan owns a team-high 232 digs and Katrina Goncher paces Bradley at the net with 44 total blocks.
The Flames jump back into Horizon League action against crosstown rival Loyola in the "Red Out" match at home on Friday, Oct. 13.
