Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team fell to Loyola, 3-0 (22-30, 30-32, 24-30), on Thursday night. The Flames head into the Horizon League Tournament next week 15-16 overall and 8-6 in conference play. Senior Ambria Springer led UIC with 11 kills and three blocks.
Junior Katarina Nedeljkovic notched eight kills and team-high 17 digs and three service aces. Junior Amanda Kenny recorded seven kills and ten digs against the Ramblers.
Posting a .341 attack percentage in game one, Loyola held the Flames to a .079 clip. The Ramblers notched 17 kills and ten blocks for the 30-22 win.
Tied at 10-10 in game two, UIC took a three-point lead on a 6-3 run, but Loyola battled back to knot it at 23-23. The game would tie four more times before Loyola's Sarah Elmer notched game point (32-30).
Leading 2-0, the Ramblers sealed the match victory in game three. Courtney Ashley recorded five kills and Elmer added ten digs, helping Loyola to a 30-24 game three win.
The Flames tackle the 2006 Horizon League Tournament on Nov. 16-19. Hosted by Wright State, the three-day event takes place on Dayton, Ohio.
