Long Beach, Calif.- The UIC women's tennis team concluded a three-match trip to California on Tuesday, falling to No. 18 Long Beach State by a 7-0 count at the 49er Campus Courts.
Callan Smith and Corey Steven teamed up to pick up an impressive No. 1 doubles victory, downing Sandra Rocha and Katy Williams by an 8-1 tally.
But the Flames (7-9) could not get anything going the rest of the way against the tough 49ers (14-2), who picked up their 14th consecutive victory and own their highest national ranking in school history at the 18th spot.
UIC opens their home outdoor schedule on April 2nd against Youngstown State at 10:00 a.m.
