Hinsdale, Ill.- The UIC men's tennis team could not overcome a tough Drake squad on Saturday night as the Flames fell to the Bulldogs, 7-0, at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.
UIC (3-5) picked up a win in doubles action as Adrianno Liccardo and Enrico Kasjan teamed for an 8-6 win over Chris Lueth and Ivan Mendoza.
Ivan Kovalev won the first set of his No. 1 singles match with Sergi Vila, but a close 7-5 win by Vila in the second set forced a tiebreaker. Kovalev was close, but could not pull out the win in a 10-6 loss in the final frame.
Drake improved to 10-1 with the win.
UIC returns to action on March 18, with a trip through Florida beginning with Florida Gulf Coast at 4:00 p.m.
