Baseball Falls To UW-Milwaukee In Foggy Doubleheader Finale

March 24, 2007

Box Score

Chicago, Ill.- Amidst a thick fog hovering over Les Miller Field, the UIC baseball team had a tough time at the plate and on the mound as the Flames fell in the second game of a doubleheader against UW-Milwaukee, 9-2, on Saturday afternoon.

Jake Carr hit a two-run homer in the fifth, but that's all UIC (6-12, 1-2 Horizon League) could muster as the Flames left nine runners stranded on base during the contest.

Carr finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate, including his first home run of the year, while Tyler Moore also had a 2-for-4 outing.

Joe Skinner was tagged with loss after allowing four runs in four innings of work. Dan Luczak earned the win for UW-Milwaukee (2-14, 2-1 Horizon League).

UIC was doomed by UW-Milwaukee's nine-run outburst from the third through fifth innings, including a six-run fifth.

Brad Riegler tossed three strong innings of two-hit work in relief.

UIC hosts Valparaiso this Tuesday at Les Miller Field beginning at 7:05 p.m.
