Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team welcomed Clemson on Thursday night in a scrimmage at the Flames Athletic Center. Despite a hard fought battle, the Tigers topped the Flames, 3-0 (21-30, 26-30, 28-30).
"Clemson is a very good team with a lot of talent," said head coach Nancy Mueller. "It is great that we were able to have them come to our gym and compete with them this spring. I was extremely pleased with how we performed. Playing against a tough opponent allows us to play with no fear and proves that we're a good team. We have a lot to look forward to this weekend and next fall."
The Flames wrap up spring action at the Three Wisemen Tournament at Loyola on Saturday, April 14.
The tournament features 16 teams and four pools. UIC faces Western Illinois, Southern Indiana and Illinois State in Pool 2 before jumping into tournament play in the afternoon session.
