Chicago, Ill. - UIC junior outside hitter Katerina Hanackova (Prevov, Czech Republic/ Gymnazium Zlin Lesni Ctvrt) was named to the Academic All-Horizon League Volleyball Team, the league office announced on Friday, Dec. 12.
The junior was one of 11 league standouts selected to comprise the all-league volleyball team. An economics major, Hanackova carries a 3.87 grade point average.
Hanackova was also named to the Fall 2007 Horizon League Academic Honor Roll as a sophomore.
The outside hitter was one of the league's top offensive producers, ranking second in service aces (0.34/set), 10th in kills per set (2.77/avg) and rank points per set (3.28/avg).
To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher and have completed at least one school year at the member institution.
