Women's Tennis Falls To Lynn University

Boca Raton, Fla. - The UIC women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision against Division II powerhouse Lynn University in Florida Sunday afternoon.

The Flames (6-5) could not find a rhythm in doubles play, dropping all three matches to the third-ranked Div. II Fighting Knights (12-2).

In singles play, Ilinca Cristescu picked up a three-set victory at the first position, defeating Victoria Weltz, 0-6, 6-4, 11-9.

Kristen McPhillips returned to the third singles position for the Flames, winning a three-set decision over Katerina Jiskrova, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.

The UIC women's tennis team returns to action on April 5, opening up Horizon League action on the road against Green Bay at 10 a.m.
