UIC vs. Chicago State Game Notes 
Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team hosts Chicago State at 7 p.m. in its home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the Flames Athletic Center.
UIC (2-3) leads the series against the Cougars, 16-0.
Chicago State (0-7) will be looking to snap a seven-game losing streak and pick up its first win of the season.
The Cougars are paced by Shamara Clark with 1.67 kills and 2.33 digs per set. Niena Poesy and Mazvita Maziveyi each own a team-best seven blocks on the season.
The Flames are coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Doublewood Inn Classic presented by ASICS in Fargo, North Dakota. UIC's weekend was highlighted with a three-set seep over host North Dakota State on Sept. 5.
Junior Lana Lobdell was named to the all-tournament team after totaling 28 kills and a recording a .274 attack percentage in 10 sets. Redshirt sophomore Epiphany Davis led the Flames at the net with 11 blocks, while sophomore Taylor Szatkowski totaled a team-best 40 digs.
UIC faces top-ranked Penn State this weekend at the Chicago Classic at Mother McAuley on Sept. 12. The Flames then battle Louisville and Illinois State on Sept. 13 to conclude tournament play for the season.
