GREEN BAY, Wis. - The UIC volleyball team closed out the weekend with a 3-0 loss (26-24, 25-19, 25-22) to Green Bay at the Kress Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Flames (10-13, 5-5 Horizon) rallied from a four-point deficit at 23-19 behind kills from Jessica Dalke and Casie Sullivan, but were unable to convert, falling 26-24 in the first set.
The Phoenix (7-14, 3-7 Horizon) created a sizable led as Green Bay's Nikkie Hintze had five of her game-high 13 kills in set two that the Flames were unable to shrink.
Neither side would have a stellar offensive outing in the third set, as both teams had errors aplenty after the intermission. With the game tied at 18, Green Bay pulled away after three Flames miscues, and completed the sweep from back-to-back kills by Kelly Mischler.
Dalke had 36 assists and 14 digs on the afternoon, while Lana Lobdell led the Flames with 10 kills.
The Flames return back to action on Tuesday when they host local foe Chicago State at 5 p.m for the yearly RED OUT match. The first 100 students in attendance will receive a limited edition RED OUT shirt.
