CHICAGO- The UIC men's soccer team takes a short break from Horizon League play to host Western Illinois this Tuesday night at Flames Field.
Tuesday is Scarf Night, where the first 400 students receive an official UIC Flames scarf after attending the UIC volleyball match prior to the soccer match.
UIC (5-4-4) has won two in a row and four of its last six on the pitch, posting three clean sheets in the process.
The Flames picked up a huge Horizon League win against Milwaukee on Saturday night, beating the Panthers with 27 seconds left in regulation on Ivan Stanisavljevic's headball off of Mike Giffin's well-struck corner kick.
Western Illinois (4-8-0) has played well against quality opposition, falling just short to the likes of Northwestern, Drake, Wisconsin and Milwaukee.
Tuesday will rekindle memories of the 2006 NCAA tournament first round match between the two sides at Flames Field that went in favor of UIC, 3-0. The Flames and the Leathernecks also met in a regular season clash in 2007 that went to UIC, 2-0.
