CHICAGO - The UIC volleyball team will close out the regular season at home against Loyola in a Saturday crosstown clash at 2 p.m. at the Flames Athletic Center.
The Flames (15-16, 8-7 Horizon) will look to send seniors Lana Lobdell and Emily Schaffer off with a victory in what will be their final home competition of their careers. The pair will be honored prior to the start of Saturday's match.
In their last meeting, UIC swept the Ramblers (11-17, 4-11 Horizon) in a historic victory on October 6, defeating Loyola on the north side for the first time in 15 trips to Alumni Gym. Kelsey Safranek paced the Flames with a 13 kill evening, while Jessica Dalke added in 11 digs and 32 assists in the 25-20, 25-20, 25-21 Flames win.
UIC currently sits fifth in the league standings, but has already clinched a slot in the upcoming league tournament held November 19-22, hosted by the regular-season champion which will be determined in this final weekend of competition.
