UIC Invitational Match Notes in PDF Format 
CHICAGO - The UIC volleyball team opens its home slate Friday, hosting Georgia State as a part of the UIC Invitational.
The Flames will take on Georgia State at 7 p.m. from the Flames Athletic Center.
In addition to Georgia State, No. 18 Michigan State and Duquesne will also descend upon the FAC for the two-day invitational. UIC plays Duquesne at 10 a.m. Saturday and will face the Spartans later that evening at 7:00.
UIC is coming off of a mid-week meeting with Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill. The host Panthers bested the Flames 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-22) in the match. Junior Casie Sullivan, currently the Flames' offensive leader, led UIC with 13 kills on the night, while freshman Kelsey Safranek chipped in with a career-high 12 kills.
The UIC Invitational opens play with Michigan State taking on Duquesne prior to the UIC-Georgia State matchup, with the Spartans and Dukes playing at 5 p.m. Saturday's schedule continues with Georgia State-Michigan State at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, after UIC-Duquesne at 10 a.m. The Dukes and Georgia State will then tilt at 5 p.m., with the Flames taking on Michigan State at 7 p.m. to wrap up the action.
