CHICAGO- The UIC volleyball team opens the Horizon League portion of its schedule at the Flames Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.
The Flames host Milwaukee in a 4 p.m. contest to begin the conference slate.
UIC (4-8) is coming off of a mid-week loss to Central Michigan at the FAC. The Chippewas bested the Flames 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-17) Tuesday evening. Freshman Kelsey Safranek led UIC with eight kills on the night.
Junior Casie Sullivan is currently leading the Flames with 143 kills so far in 2009. Jessica Dalke has dished out a team-high 456 assists on the season, and also leads the squad in digs with 112. Senior Lana Lobdell leads the defensive blocking attack with 41 total blocks.
The Milwaukee contest is the fifth of six consecutive UIC will play at the FAC. The Flames close out their homestand Sunday with a 2 p.m. contest against Green Bay.
