CHICAGO - For her final project in a graduate-level communications class, former UIC volleyball player Casie Sullivan enlisted the help of her teammates to help tell the story of what it means to be a Division I volleyball player and part of such a unique family.
For the final project, Sullivan and her classmates were charged with putting together an audio documentary that had very little guidelines other than to tell an interesting an engaging story. The only restriction was that the documentary could not contain any visual aids or graphics; only audio. The students had to use their own recording devices and use special software for recording and editing the audio which they collected.
"As you will hear, I did a summary of the season for the UIC Flames volleyball program," said Sullivan. "I interviewed my teammates and asked each player the same five questions and then compiled all of their answers after each question.
"I added in some favorite songs from the season and every time I listen to it, I recall specific times throughout the season during warm-ups. I thought it would be so interesting to put together a recap of the season and hear how everyone feels about the program.
"After listening to the final product, it is evident that the entire team feels extremely fortunate to be part of such a great program and it shows how much fun we have together," said Sullivan.
