CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis team won their Valentine's Day showdown 6-1 against Eastern Illinois on Sunday at the Evergreen Racquet Courts.

In doubles play, the Flames notched the point with wins from the pairs of Mariya Kovaleva/Kristin McPhillips and Ilinca Cristescu/Elena Antakova.

In singles play, UIC tailed five points on wins from Kovaleva, Cristescu, McPhillips, Zlatka Petrova, and Amy Jellish. Jellish fought back from a 3-6 first set lost, taking the second set 6-1 and the third set 10-5.

The Flames return to action when they travel to Toledo, Ohio to take on Toledo on Saturday Feb. 20 at 4 p.m.
