CHICAGO - UIC Athletics is proud to release the 2010 promotional schedules for the upcoming soccer and volleyball seasons.
Several exciting promotions, both new and old, dot the upcoming slates for both teams.
The soccer schedule kicks off on Friday, Aug. 27th with "25th Ward Day" at Flames Field. Residents of Alderman Danny Solis' ward and the entire community are welcome to attend FREE of charge. Bring the family--face painters, balloon artists, giveaways and more will be available as the Flames and Blue Demons compete for city bragging rights and prepare for the 2010 season at 7:00 p.m. Kids can meet the team after the game and get autographs and photos!
Students won't want to miss the 4th Annual Scarf Night on Thursday, Sept. 30th. The first 400 students will receive a new, limited-edition scarf courtesy of the Flames as UIC hosts in-state foe SIUE.
In another long-standing promotion, the soccer program will host White Out III on Wednesday, Oct. 13th as the Flames welcome the Ohio State Buckeyes to Chicago. The first 1,000 fans will receive an exclusive WHITE OUT T-Shirt courtesy of American Family Insurance.

The volleyball team opens the 2010 home schedule on Friday, Sept. 3rd at 7:00 p.m. by hosting the Memphis Tigers on Spandex Night at the UIC Pavilion. All fans who attend wearing Spandex will receive a complimentary bag of popcorn.
Saturday, Sept. 25th is Vertically Gifted Night against the Loyola Ramblers. All fans taller than UIC outside hitter Casie Sullivan (5-foot-11) will receive a complimentary ticket. The match begins at 4:00 p.m.
It's the DIG FOR THE CURE match at the Flames Athletic Center on Friday, Oct. 29th against Butler. Join the Flames as they close out Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Fans are encouraged to WEAR PINK. The first 100 fans who arrive will receive a pink shirt. In addition, Paul Mitchell The School will provide haircuts and all donations from those haircuts will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
